I felt the same way about six-thirty and it took me time to adjust with that narration, i then didnt mind it so much. I didnt like the series, the book is really good!

I hope the cold days get better for you. December is usually a month I look forward to all year, july is when I feel a bit too anxious and unwelcomed somehow.

thank you for sharing your experience :)

Six-thirty took me by surprise. It felt like the book had suddenly turned into a fantasy, but then I adjusted to its weirdness. I'm glad you enjoyed it and this piece. Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks for all the ideas in wintertime self-care and regulation. Six-thirty was my very favorite part of Lessons in Chemistry! You may enjoy the TV show better than the book since they totally deprive us of most of the quality six-thirty perspective ;)

Haha! I didn’t watch the series and heard his voice wasn’t included. I eventually learned to enjoy his commentary, but I was so confused and thrown for a loop when it was introduced! 😆

What a wonderful article. Thank you so much.

I was just talking to a friend about the seasonal thing, and how much location plays a role as well. We both lived in the same city (Tokyo), and it gets dark there before 5pm in January. It's quite distressing, really. I moved to Thailand this year on New Year's Eve (though writing from Vietnam atm, moving a lot!) and was shocked when we landed at 6pm and it was still light out. It makes an amazing amount of difference, it really does!

For me, even rainy days can be rough in that regard. Thank you for sharing what works for you, and for your courage in vulnerability as well.
