Wise words, clearly spoken with lived-experience. Do you feel like there are any remedies for the grief if the person withdraws permanently? It's true that having healthier relationships, with siblings or others, comes with many benefits. But it takes a lot of bravery to shift an unhealthy dynamic as the other person, who like you said may feel angry about the changes, can withdraw permanently and maybe popping up in instances where they try to recapture the old dynamic. For some of us, the questions aren't as much about the guilt as the grief. There is grief when the other person didn't come along with us, even if we experience the greater benefits of growth for both and allowing space in life for other, more healthy relationships.
